The final numbers are still coming in, but we have achieved our $1 million goal for the Preserving Our Castle, Building Our Future capital campaign that officially ended January 31, 2014. Know that each pledge commitment and check written against it, whether it was large or small amount, was truly appreciated and made a difference. I want to thank all of you for putting up with my follow-up phone calls, final solicitation letters, and personal notes urging your participation as we made the final push to ensure the capital campaign crossed was the $1 million finish line. I applaud your overwhelming support during the final phase and entrusting us with your hard-earned contributions to make Indiana Gamma a enduring and premier Fraternity experience on the Butler campus. Below is a high-level summary of the capital campaign results for your review. Capital Campaign Summary as of May 12, 2014 • Total pledges committed: $1,039,028 • Total pledges fulfilled: $910,528; 88% • Total participation: 24%; 215 contributors out of 878 mailable alumni, friends, and undergraduates • Average gift: $6,117 Capital Campaign Disbursement Summary • $216,000 toward refurnishing the Castle • Window blinds, kitchen equipment and living quarters case goods, dining and great room furniture and carpet, housemother's living quarters, front door pin light • $17,000 toward building LEED certification (green building construction rehab and best practices) • $223,000 toward capital campaign fundraising fees and newsletters • $404,000 toward restoration and modernizing of physical plant • $50,000 toward property landscaping Indiana Gamma Chapter Summary since campus reintroduction • 229 Indiana Gamma undergraduates initiated into the Bond; averaging 38 new members per year • Consistently ranked in top three GPA for all men on campus • Campus and community service leadership • Numerous General Headquarters awards including Gold Star Award where Indiana Gamma ranked as one of top 20 chapters recognized for overall top chapter performance; first time since 1970 A more detailed report will be presented this fall at Homecoming as part of a larger celebration currently being planned. Stay tuned for more event details and start making travel plans to attend 2014 Homecoming and capital campaign celebration scheduled for September 26-28. We promise it will be a memorable event and a great time.
