Paul Winer Comic ����� | S���� B���C�� �����| 2013 | S������ R��� G�����-B��� VFW Post 769 hosts Memorial Day Ceremony Quartzsite has a new Town Manager The Ben Scott VFW Post 769 will be holding their annual Memorial Day Services at the Hi Jolly Cemetery on Monday, May 26 at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited to come and show their sup- port and remembrance for those brave men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifi ce for their service to this country and helped give us the freedoms that we enjoy. Mark Church will play the Star Spangled Banner and Taps. If there are any Vets out there that need a ride and have no Quartzsite Town Manager Skylor Miller Quartzsite Town Council selected Skylor Miller as new Town Manager during their regular meeting Tuesday, February 11th, 2014. With a vote of 6-1, Mayor Ed Foster was the only dissenting vote. Miller has been working for the past eight years as Assistant Township Ad- ministrator/Zoning Administrator of the Fairfi eld Township in Ohio. He also just received a Master of Public Administra- tion degree from the University of Dayton. In 2006 Miller received his BA in Urban & Regional Planning from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has two young chil- dren and looks forward to settling down in Quartzsite. Miller began work Monday, May 12th and attended his fi rst Council meeting Tuesday, May 13th with a 170-page agen- da, prepared by former Town Manager Laura Bruno, who stayed on for a week to help in the transition process. Miller said he is looking forward to becoming a part of the community. transportation call Town Hall to arrange a ride. At 10:30am there is a Flag raising Ceremony at the Airplanes at Town Park which will be followed by hot dogs and hamburgers fundraiser to benefi t Cancer Aid and Research at the VFW Post Can- teen, located at 120 S. Palo Verde, Quartzsite. Please come out and show your support for them, as well as for those who still serve in harm's way. For more information call 928-927-7697.
