Delta Xi Joins in National Philanthropic Success W ith 82 new sisters, the members of Delta Xi Chapter have had quite a successful year! Our continued academic success, philanthropic efforts, and strong representation in our Greek community have led Delta Xi to excel this spring. Step Up for the Children of St. Jude Each year St. Jude Children's Research Hospital hosts a leadership conference for Tri Delta chap- ters around the nation. This year Philanthropy Chairperson Jordan McNab '12 and I were fortu- nate to attend the conference and celebrate the successful completion of Delta Delta Delta's largest fundraising goal to date, $15 million within five years. The goal was met in only three and a half years! Delta Xi has made great strides in our individual fundraising efforts. On March 8, the Sincerely Yours letter writing campaign took place in our brand new dining room. Other Greek organizations on campus were invited to join our sisters in writing letters asking for personal donations to the children of St. Jude. As of April 4, the efforts had raised $48,608! We are so grateful for the generous donations that have brought us to this amazing accomplishment. Next up, our first-ever DHOP (Delta's House of Pancakes): a late-night dinner for the Mizzou commu- nity to enjoy good company and delicious pancakes, all while helping out a great cause. Actives Bring It On at RAMS Lip-Syncing Competition This year, members of Tri Delta continued our participation in RAMS, a campus-wide philanthropy benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Institute. The Delta Dancers, led by dance director Taylor Hud- son '13 worked hard to choreograph a performance for Rock-It, a lip-syncing and dance competi- tion. We eventually took third place overall. Pride in Our Leaders Panhellenic continues to push the women of the Greek community to their fullest potential. This spring they offered 32 scholarships to outstanding sorority women to attend a women's leadership conference. Eight of the scholarships were awarded to our members. Raising the Bar for Greek Week This year's Greek Week Steering Committee decided to step outside the box by making all group pairings randomized. We were grateful to be paired with Delta Chi, FIJI, and NPHC and walked away with first place in volleyball, second place in soccer, and a successful showing in football. In addition to sports, we participated in various community service opportunitites, such as the Special Olympics and Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center, and participated in the annual Greek Week Blood Drive. We were able to show off many of our talented members with a skit and dance titled Dawn of the Dead 2: MIZZOMBIE Apocalypse at Greek Fling. Dolly Deltas' Academic Excellence Our members continue to excel academically, ranking fifth overall for sororities with a 3.322 GPA. Thirteen of our members achieved a 4.0 in the fall. On behalf of Delta Xi Chapter, thank you, sisters, for your continued support of our members. We appreciate all that you have done for our success. You are always welcome to our home!
