Hair, Nails, Pedicure and Therapeutic Massage Services By Joanne Winer This has been a very good year for the Quartzsite Community Thrift Store, and the Board decid- ed at the last meeting to give out another $3500 to worthy organiza- tions again this month. It was voted to give funds to the Quartzsite Public Library, Quartzsite Historical Society, Parks and Recreation Summer Program, and Alliance Church Youth Camp Fund to send kids to camp this summer. Board members went around on Friday delivering the checks, and it was such a great feeling to be able to help our town organizations this way, making all the hard work well worthwhile for all of us at the store. We want everyone to know just how much it means to be able to give back to the community this way, by making it possible for these and other groups to be able to continue their work also. Everyone who received this month's checks were overwhelmed that we are able to do this on a regular basis, since we only started the store a little over 3 years ago, and these donations this month bring our total of giving out funds to almost $30,000!!! We again want to give credit to all our volunteers who work so hard to help raise these funds-- washing clothes, sorting items and marking them, keeping the store running etc.--we could not do it without you all--for those who are leaving for the summer, rest up while you can because we are al- ways busy in the winter!! For those of us who stay, we will be there Thursdays and Fridays and Satur- days from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for your shopping pleasure, and also to take donated items at the back of the store. If you have items that need to be picked up or cannot get there during regular business hours, please call Jini Dill at 916-7338. Our customers are so important to the success of the store, and we hope you all realize how much we appreciate your business and how much a part of these donations we give out are thanks to you!! Be sure to drop in and see our wall of photos of our fundraising dona- tions to these groups, and watch the green on the big saguaro chart on the wall next to the register keep climbing thanks to you all!!
