They're every- where. Sugary, salty, fatty and oh so delicious. We know that they're not good for us, but still we chow down on them. I must admit, I'm guilty of in- dulging, but hey — all things in moderation, right? "Unwrapped" (which is cur- rently on hiatus) has always been a fan favorite on the Food Network. After a number of seasons spent diving into the stories behind some of our most iconic food brands, the show has finally landed itself a spiritual sister show. "Rewrapped," which pre- mieres with two back-to-back episodes the evening of Mon- day, April 21, is a competition show for people with a love of some of our most iconic snacks: doughnuts and potato chips, Twinkies and Tastykakes. Hosted by former 'N Sync member Joey Fatone and with a rotating panel of judges led by "Unwrapped's" Marc Sum- mers, each episode of "Re- wrapped" will invite three cooking competitors into the kitchen to try their hands at two challenges involving one of our most well-known treats. It's a high-energy competition with high stakes: the winning chef will walk away with a year's supply of the snack food used in the episode. That's a pretty sweet prize (pun intended), but winning it won't be easy. In the first round of the competition, after the mystery snack is revealed to the sweet-toothed contestants, they'll have to recreate the food in question. With no reci- pe and only their own taste buds to guide them, they'll have to rely on their palates and knowledge of both texture and flavor to come up with the closest representation that they can.
