HOLIDAY PALMS LAST JAM Holiday Palms last Jam for the season will be on April 9th 2014. This Jam is at 6:30pm on Wednesday. It has been a great season and I would like to extent my thanks to all the great musi- cians & singers who are there each week. Also to the audience we have the best audience!! We look forward to seeing all of you next season. I will post our starting date for next season some- time in October. Wishing you all a wonderful Summer. Thanks so much, Conra COMMUNITY CENTER OFFICE? My husband and I were very active in the Town Of Quartzsite while we lived there. This winter would have been my 15th winter there. I loved Quartzsite so much I dragged my husband there to live permanently a few years ago. We have since left the County. I went back in February to con- duct some business, and while there, I looked a few friends. Imag- ine my surprise when I found one, a town employee, occupying an offi ce (in the designated Meeting Room) at the Community Center building. I know for fact that the Grant em- phatically stipulated that no town employees or town offi ces could occupy the building for 5 years. I asked the employee what was going on and they told me that this issue was brought up to Town Manager Laura Bruno. But she basically said (in my words), the employee knows their job and just do it. Nice way to treat your employees! So did Bruno think she would get away with it or that she just doesn't care what stipulations are in the writing or receiving of Grants? Wake up Quartzsite! Hold them account- able or you will lose many much needed Grants for your community. Never Again Resident (name withheld by request) THANK YOU FOR THE DONATIONS The Food Bank wants to thank everyone who donated this sea- son. The donations have been the best ever and I am so grateful to you all. That's what I love about Quartzsite; you give when the need is there. There are too many people to thank, so I will just send out a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone! With all your donations we should have enough to last one of the sum- mer months. Remember, if you're heading north for the summer, the Food Bank could use your extra cans and non-perishables. Don't leave them in the heat; drop off at the Food Bank Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-noon. We're located on Moon Mountain just north of the Senior Center. Come by and see us!
