Provided by Elmer London, Quartzsite and Desert Messenger My first golf game was a riot. First drive, down the fairway and long. Nine holes later 110 strokes, with a trophy for least putts. A non-golfer affair, One player's first drive over his head, into the club house pool. With eighteen holes we may likely have been there all night. By Joanne Winer The 19th annual Party in the Park to celebrate Celia's Rainbow Gar- dens is scheduled for March 16, starting at noon at the pavilion in the park. The lunch will include burgers and hot dogs, salads, drinks and desserts, and is free. Donation cans will be set up for anyone who wishes to contribute to the cost of the lunch. There will be a raffl e, and a 50/50 drawing, as well as entertainment for the afternoon--Barefoot and Boots band will be playing, and then Paul Winer will be there with Ralph Martin on one string washtub bass, as well as Jerry Mullins (from Barefoot and Boots), and Buddy Apfel with his tuba and trombone. Be sure to bring a chair and enjoy some great music and delicious food and help us celebrate Celia's birthday and the Gardens!! For more information, please call Joanne at 927-6551.
