Dona Dole really outdid
herself, along with all her help-
ers, in creating a new event for
Quartzsite and helping a worthy
cause while at it. Dona is the La-
dies Auxiliary Chairperson for the
VFW Post 769 for Cancer Aid and
Research, and this event is hoped
to become an annual party for this
great charity.
Dona counted 132 people at-
tending the party, which included
a lunch of sandwiches, salad, des-
sert and drink. There was a huge
raffl e, with donated items from a
lot of local businesses and some
VFW Garden Party huge success
from Blythe as well. They had a hat
decorating table, and many ladies
were wearing their special cre-
ations and did a conga line around
the room showing them off before
they were judged. Music for the
event was provided by Rhythm and
Romance duo.
Dona will be sending her per-
sonal thank yous in the next issue of
this paper, but she wants to thank
everyone who made this such a
huge success this year for a fi rst
time event, and hopes that it will
continue to grow in the years to
come. Everyone had a great time!!!
