Competi- tion for 3rd place ended in a 3-way tie. Those teams who shot 41's were Gene Howard & Robert Dickson, Sherm Cloward & Loren Bennett, and Kit Wilkins & Dino Linden. Kit Wilkens nudged fellow teammate Dino Linden for men's long drive prize. Pete Lilly won the men's closest to the pin prize. My hus- band, John O'Keefe took me to my fi rst show and we had a blast. I give credit to all the artists that were there for their hard work and time painting such nice pieces. I thank Summer Reidhead for starting this show four years ago. It wasn't just an art show. There was more to do than look at paint- ings. They had door prizes, raffl es, and a scavenger hunt. When your number was drawn for the raffl e, you would be arrested by the mar- shal and then led to your gift inside. You could leave once this was done. The prizes varied from gift cards, to winning a painting. Once they had it set up for me to be arrested and I was handed fi ve raffl e tickets for a wedding gift from the art show. John won a raffl e and was arrested then walked over to draw his gift envelope which had a twenty-fi ve dollar gift card inside from the Roadrunner Market in Quartzsite. Summer Reidhead is a friend of ours and had told them that John and I would be there and that we had just gotten married. We were congratulated by everyone. Sum- mer also purchased a beautiful scratch painting of two zebras and gave it to us for our wedding gift. It was my favorite piece there. I found all of mine and John's items on the scavenger hunt list. There was a small list of six artists, along with six items that had to be found: one from each place. The item was part of a painting. I had never done one of these before. John explained it to me and some of the artists gave me hints until I was able to do it alone. I thank them all for the help. I also want to thank the owner of Mountain Quail [Norm Simpson] for letting the art show happen in the RV Club House behind the restaurant. They had treats to snack on while you walked around too. It lasted for three hours from noon until three o'clock. The fun didn't end there either. We met a few artists over at the restaurant afterwards for din- ner with Summer. She bought us a wedding dinner, since she wasn't able to attend the wedding. She is a great person and a good friend. She and John have been friends for years and I am pleased to have her as one of my friends now. Thank you John, my sweet loving husband once again for taking me. I love you. Thank you Summer and all the rest mentioned above for the fun day. Art Show another huge success ABOVE: Art show founder Summer Reidhead, of Colorado River Reporter | S R G-B
