All Silver Coins, .999 Bars, Sterling Silverware, etc. 1240 W. Main Street Contributed By: Violet Kiss President Quartzsite Rotary Guests arrived and were greeted individually at the door. The well- dressed ladies received 2 "pearl" necklaces, one black, one white. With black & white name tags in place and a 'giftie' bag chocked full of tasty good- ies, fun items, and discount cards to merchants around our towns now in hand, everyone went off to mingle at the bar to "meet and greet" for about an hour. Then we all headed to the dining tables to start the feast. Al- though it got a bit diffi cult listening to each other over the "din", a great time was had by all. The 2nd Annual Black & White Din- ner on Saturday, February 15th was a huge success! The Quartzsite Ro- tary had 61 reservations for dinner, and 63 came. We were thrilled by the warm, fuzzy feelings had by all who came to be a part of and to help encourage our new and growing Ro- tary and our community programs here in Quartzsite. We are being supported by all of these wonderful people who took the time to drive to the north end of Parker at the Black Pearl Restaurant. People came from Lake Havasu, Parker, Blythe, and, of course, Quartzsite. Some were Ro- tarians from these towns. Some were visiting Rotarians from other states, some snowbirds, and the balance was our Rotarians and our local towns- people. The food was delicious and new friendships started. With the generosity of our dinner guests we will be able to gain more members and go ahead with many of our com- munity programs. First, we have a lot of people and businesses to thank for their bighearted outpouring of dona- tions to make this all possible: Addicted to Deals; Doug Bigler, CPA (Blythe); CRIT's Blue Water Casino and Blue Water Casino Hotel; David Rotary Doings Plunkett Realty; Eastside Breadery; Emerald Canyon Golf Club; Hardies Jewelry; La Casa Del Rancho; Moun- tain Quail Café; Quartzsite Bakery; Quartzsite Quilters; Quartzsite Yacht Club; River Rags of Parker; Silly Al's Pizza; The Black Pearl Restaurant (Pirate's Den RV Resort); The Main Trading Post; Times Three Family Restaurant; and Shugrue's Restau- rant & Brewery Group (Shugrue's, Barley Brothers Brewery, Javelina Cantina, Mad Dogs Bar & Grill, Makai Café). Thank you all. D.L. Wilson (of Parker) won the 32 inch HDTV grand prize during the raffl e. Let's get everyone out to the Grand Gathering this weekend. This is one GRAND affair! We will have a booth outside of the QIA building on Satur- day where many of the activities will be taking place. We will offer infor- mation on our club, membership, our community programs, and…a 50/50 Raffl e. See you there!
