Ayn Rand New Website Design, Focused Outreach, and Contest Aimed at Engaging Youth Planned for the Coming Week Phoenix, AZ -- Attorney General Tom Horne is today kicking off the start of National Consumer Protec- tion Week (NCPW) with the launch of a new user-friendly website design to help Arizona consum- ers avoid falling victim to scams and deceptive business practices. The website, which can be found at www.azag.gov, features a wide va- riety of topics on consumer issues, online complaint form, and links to other consumer resources. Visitors to the website can fi nd information about the latest scams and rip-offs, read and download informational brochures with consumer protection tips and fi le consumer complaints online. Con- sumers can access the website at www.azag.gov. "Our new website design provides consumers with easy, accessible information and allows them to get the help and information they need to be smart consumers," Attorney General Horne noted. Horne's offi ce handles thousands of complaints annually. In 2013, the Offi ce was able to recover more than $9.5 million on behalf of consumers. Horne encourages people who have been victims of deceptive or unfair practices to fi le complaints with his offi ce. "Consumer complaints help us identify ongoing trends and new scams," said Horne. "That infor- mation is vital to our consumer protection enforcement actions." The Arizona Attorney General's Of- fi ce has joined with other state and federal organizations to promote NCPW, a coordinated national effort that encourages consum- ers to take full advantage of their rights and make better informed decisions. Press announcements are planned throughout the week in Arizona that address mail and telemarketing scams, automotive fraud, protecting your personal fi nances, and a poster contest to engage youth in issues that affect one of the most vulnerable popula- tions - seniors. To fi le a consumer complaint online, please visit https://www. azag.gov/complaints#consumer. If you have questions or would like to request a complaint form, contact the Consumer Information & Com- plaints Unit at: (602) 542-5763 (Phoenix) (520) 628-6504 (Tucson) or toll free outside metro Phoenix, (800) 352-8431 Attorney General Tom Horne kicks off National Consumer Protection Week
