OUR SHELTER IS MORE THAN A BUILDING
O
ur Shelter at 2121 Sunset Drive has been a home away from home for
hundreds of young men and a classroom where our brothers have learned
our fundamental principles of truth, courage, faith, and power. If we wish for
Delta Tau Delta to continue its strong presence on Iowa State's campus, we
must ensure that we are providing a safe, modern, and competitive facility.
The footprint of the facility limited the flexible use of space and our ability
to economically expand the structure. With that in mind, the Gamma Pi
alumni leadership determined that starting from scratch with input from our
undergraduate members, design professionals and ISU officials would yield
the best facility to meet our needs for decades.
Instead of thinking about what we need to do to get by for the next ten years,
this project is a vision into the future of Gamma Pi and fraternities at Iowa
State. Our focus will always be on recruiting the best, brightest, and motivated
young men into the chapter. This project will help give those men a Shelter—a
home—they can be proud of and enjoy.
With our past and present secure, now is the appropriate time to Honor Our
History and Build for the Future. Our investment in a new Shelter will ensure
the continued success of our chapter and will promote a legacy upon which to
build an even greater brotherhood.
