"We Our Readers" Neal Senior Center Winter Flea Market And Ham Biscuit Sale The Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center hosted a Winter Flea Market and Ham Biscuit Sale on Friday, February 7. They served biscuits for breakfast and hotdog plates and homemade desserts for lunch. The 36 vendors carried an extensive array of unique items for purchase. Standing at the homemade soap display (middle) was Joyce Leatherman from Crouse, NC. Joyce said she comes every year and always looks forward to it. This year, she is buying some all natural homemade lavender soap in addition to "other goodies". She also enjoyed a fresh ham biscuit. The Neal Senior Center would like to thank each one of vendors and all those who donated homemade cakes, drinks, and bread for the event. They helped make the event a huge success. Many shoppers came out. Jefferson Elmentary students enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day by making homemade creations. Pictured left, is Mrs. Dedmon's class, blowing kisses in front of their "Blizzard of Love" door decoration. This could not be more appropriate with the recent weather throughout our area. Pictured are: Emma, Jeremiah, Kaylann, Ella, Addison, Abby, Kaden, and Ryan. Pictured above, Ms. Denton's kindergarten, kids: Jed, Allan, Yadira, Guy, Johanna, Kate, Lashya, Milagaros, Markwaun and Miles proudly show off their newly created cards. As the song goes from the Broadway Play – "You've Gotta Have Heart! All You Really Need Is Heart" Happy Valentine's Day everyone! –M. A.
