Main Street Another successful show for Paul Winer at QIA By Joanne Winer The 4th annual Paul Winer and Friends concert last Tuesday night at the Q.I.A. was another huge success again this year, and the crowds for both shows really had a great time. There was a lot of laughter and a lot of great music from Paul on the piano playing his own brand of boogie/woo- gie and blues, along with his friends Ralph Martin on one-string bass, Jerry Mullins on guitar, Buddy Apfel on tuba and valve trombone and special guest Will Pirone on blues harmonica. The afternoon show also featured Morgan Mulac singing God Bless America and doing a duet of Harbor Lights with Paul. If you missed this great concert, you can still hear some great music from Paul, Ralph, Buddy and Jerry--they are playing at the Grand Gathering on March 8 at the Q.I.A for an afternoon show at 3:30 p.m. Paul will also be playing at the Elks Club in Parker on March 15 and at the annual Celia's Rainbow Gardens Party in the Park on March 16 starting at noon--they will all be there along with Barefoot and Boots band. If you were at the concert, and took any video of the show, Paul would love to have a copy of it if possible. Please contact him at 928-927-6551 or see him at the bookstore. He would like to thank all the musicians who worked with him in the shows, the Q.I.A. for all their help, and everyone who came out to see the concert and made it such a success again--looking forward to next year already!!! • Birth • Obituary • Anniversary Place it FREE in the : Desert Messenger! 928-916-4235 Got something to share?
