26 W W W.thejeWelrybook.CoM a n s w e r s q u e s t i o n s Do you have anything new planned for your bridal collection this year? I am planning to introduce unique shapes of rose cuts and perhaps cush- ion-shape, old mine cuts. What is exciting in the year ahead for bridal jewelry? Bridal jewelry just continues to evolve with brides wanting more and more unique designs and incorporating their own personal touch. All of these trends only allow for more creativity! What was the hottest trend in bridal jewelry in 2013? Rose gold What is one bridal trend you'd happily say goodbye to? Perfectly matched bridal sets. I absolutely love a more personal and eclec- tic look, something that seems as if it was gathered over time, perhaps on travels or from your grandmother's jewelry box, rather than purchased as a ho-hum set. And what are brides asking for in 2014? Gemstone centers. Color has been strong in bridal for a while now, but I'm noticing interest not just in colored raw or fancy diamonds, but also in other precious gems like sapphire and ruby. Describe your signature look. A little sweet, a little graphic, with an antique tinge. Do you have anything new planned for your bridal collection this year? I'm so excited to be introducing one-offs this year. A major focus of our line is mountings that can be customized with different stone shapes/sizes, and we've always created a lot of special custom projects for individual clients, but for the first time I am putting together a fantastic group of seriously one-of-a-kind and super limited production pieces as a stand alone collection. So much fun! What is exciting in the year ahead for bridal jewelry? Meeting with brides and grooms to be. It just never gets old. Megan Thorne meganthorne.com
