sigma chi fraternity at the university of alabama | est. 1876 $270,000 Needed to Reach $2 Million Goal B Fall 2013 Class Challenge Launched to Raise Remaining Funds rothers, our years at the Capstone are among the most memorable in our lives. Our time as undergraduates at Sigma Chi built the character and a network that helped all of us raise families, start careers, and maintain life-long friendships. Iota Iota has played a prominent role at Alabama for nearly 140 years, and now it's our turn to ensure Sigma Chi's place for the next century and beyond. Our support of the Legacy Campaign for Iota Iota is given in hope that additional young men will continue to find the opportunity for the growth and development we had while undergraduates. We have been impressed by the response from our brothers to date to help build the new house, and through the support and loyalty of Iota Iota alumni, we have secured almost $1.73 million that helped to build one of the nicest fraternity houses in the nation! It is a great start and, obviously, alumni involvement is critical to securing the future of Iota Iota. Today, we're launching a challenge to all the classes to see which ones can have the highest percent participation. Currently, the class of 1957 is in the lead (63%). Multiple classes from the "Golden Era" are not far behind that level, and the graduating classes of 1989, 1997, and 2003 have made good starts and can quickly raise the percentage of alumni who have donated. Whether you have donated previously or not, we know that a large number of alumni still plan to give. Now is the time to donate and to reach out to those classmates who have talked about giving and come together to make a class gift. Room naming opportunities on behalf of pledge classes and families are still available. We already have several class leaders in place to reach out to classmates and garner additional support of the project. Would you be willing to serve as one of our leaders and contact your pledge brothers and friends? On pages 2 and 3, you will find an updated donor list that indicates who from each class has made a commitment. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about a class leader position as we start to finish the campaign. The campaign is winding down, so now is the time to make your 100% tax-deductible gift directly to the University of Alabama to help pay for the Sigma Chi house, especially before the 2013 tax year ends. Others before us made loyal commitments of their time and resources to the future of our chapter, now it is up to us. We hope we can count on your continued support! In hoc and Roll Tide, Hon.
