And double WOW! The Neal Senior Center would like to say thank you to our SHIIP Counselors who have put in double and triple overtime! Did you know that North Carolina has more than 1.5 million Medicare beneficiaries and that all those beneficiaries are served by volunteers and coordinators from the Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP)? The SHIIP volunteers must successfully complete a computerized training course to become certified. They are required to attend quarterly trainings, and they must provide 40 hours of counseling services annually to maintain their certification. These SHIIP Counselors have helped many seniors with their Medicare Part D insurance, whether it was a question about their insurance, Obamacare, or help finding the best insurance for them. They have been helpful, caring, and sincere. It really means a lot to many who don't really understand the insurance world to have someone that is advocating for us. Without these remarkable and dedicated volunteers, we could not reach out and help so many Medicare beneficiaries. Thank you Dot Bowen, Pricilla Wray, Roger Wuest, & Bobbie Johnson for your dedicated service and hard work. 2 Bobbie Johnson Place Your Orders For Holiday Cakes The Neal Senior Center Bake Shop, an extension of the Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center's Gift Shop (Cobwebs 'n Confetti) provides the public with an opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of delicious homemade cakes, pies and stickies.
