Finally, Harrison hopes to improve dining services by bringing new options to campus that are healthier and easier to access. "It is important for all active members of Alabama Alpha to get involved on campus outside of the fraternity. We should take what we learn in SigEp and apply it to the university to give back to what Auburn has given us," Harrison says. "Remember to get outside of yourself, and think of others before yourself. Always give back to the Chapter. Always move forward and improve." Some of Harrison's favorite moments in SigEp include serving as a member of the executive council, and going on away games and taking trips with pledge brothers. Harrison will earn his bachelor's degree in accounting in May 2014 and he plans to pursue his master's in accounting and CPA. Next summer, he will intern with one of the "Big Four" accounting firm's audit practice. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, fishing, playing tennis, and reading. E-mail: rhm0006@auburn.edu. STAY CONNECTED TO ALABAMA ALPHA Spotlight on President of the Auburn Alumni Association Bill Stone '85 B ill Stone '85 believes that his time spent at the Alabama Alpha Chapter helped set him up for success both as an undergraduate and as an alumnus. Through his membership he has found success with leadership opportunities and lifelong relationships. "SigEp provided me a foundation for success, professionally and socially. The friends I met and made there have provided a lifelong link to Auburn and to SigEp," Bill says. While an undergraduate Bill served as vice president, and he learned valuable lessons that helped him with his future career. "SigEp helped prepare me for life after college. I was provided service and leadership opportunities that allowed me to improve my ability to communicate, make new friends quickly, and develop relationships on business and personal levels. I got my first job through connection to the father of a SigEp brother." While Bill stays busy with his job at Mayer Electric and being president of the Auburn Alumni Association, he enjoys reminiscing on fun undergraduate memories like SigEp Kidnap, Waikiki, Saloon Express, the bat race during Greek Week, the Supper Club, band parties with Chevy 6 and Telluride, and intramurals, including winning the All Sports trophy. Bill believes the key to success is to stay engaged with the three organizations that gave him so much: church, Auburn, and SigEp. "As my career took me to different locations across the country, I always found a church home and an Auburn home. I have seen the ways that local Auburn clubs connect you to the community. I have been a member of nine different Auburn clubs. I am blessed to be able to give back to Auburn and serve as a steward for the Auburn Alumni Association," says Bill. "The position makes it easier to stay in touch with Alabama Alpha because it helps me find old and new friendships." Bill's advice for undergraduates is to stay connected to the Chapter and the university. "Plug into your community and local Auburn club. Begin a culture of giving back a portion of what was given to you, for SigEp and Auburn." Bill lives in Rainbow City, Alabama, with his wife, Marian, and his son, Trey.
