TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY Delta Tau Delta and Zeta Tau Alpha Team Up for Rorie ast semester, the Zeta Sigma Chapter was informed of a young girl named Rorie Joslin who is battling a rare form of leukemia. She urgently needed a bone marrow transplant, a procedure in which a perfect match is necessary. L Texas A&M's signature Chilifest. DTD took second place with their "Texas State Fair" build. In an effort to help Rorie find that perfect match, as well as provide potential matches to many other patients with life-threatening conditions, DTD worked with Be The Match, a national marrow donor program for people with life-threatening blood cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma, and other diseases, to improve their registry of committed donors. The chapter saw this not only as an opportunity to save Rorie's life, but also a chance to provide a cure to many others in need. Teaming up with the women of Zeta Tau Alpha, Delta Tau Delta hosted the bone marrow drive at their house. The event consisted of a simple, pain-free test swab of any potential donor's mouth, requiring only a few minutes of their time. All results from these swabs will be used to evaluate a match for Rorie and to expand the registry that Be The Match uses to confirm potential donors. Zeta Sigma was honored to work with Zeta Tau Alpha and have the chance to potentially save Rorie's life, as well as provide hope to many other people around the world.
