Well done, undergraduates, you have carried the torch well! Here are a few anecdotes about our incoming class of members. • A junior joins our ranks. Dylan Mahler is a well-established presence on campus who graduated first in his high school class in Allen, Nebraska. We welcome his experience which will be a benefit to his new underclassmen pledge brothers. • Among our new sophomore pledges, Sam Williams was captain of his Pius X swim team. Sam is a transfer from Northwest Missouri State where he organized and led a cancer charity benefit which raised more than $5,000, and he is also an international baccalaureate. Allen Smith hails from San Bernadino, California, and is a multiple scholarship recipient from the University. • Our new freshman members are quite accomplished and have interesting backgrounds. Here is but a partial introduction of our freshman pledges: o member of the prestigious Big Red Singers, Gabe Casper. Gabe was on the honor a roll at Lincoln Southwest; othe captain of Grand Island High School's soccer team in Danny Gamboa; ohead of the U.S. delegation for the United Nations International Youth Council. Hung Vo is also a featured speaker at the upcoming Tedx Youth conference and an intern on several political campaigns; oa trap shooting athlete and graduate of Lincoln Southwest, Garret Pfingsten; oa musical whiz from Omaha, Mark Germer. Mark performed this summer with Dr. Thomas Mastrioni at the Amalfi Coast Musical Festival; oanother member of The Big Red Singers and an honor roll student, Ky Veney, who hails from Lincoln; oa young man who scored 33 on the ACT test, Ory Wickizer. Welcome to the latest class of Sigs at the University of Nebraska! Actually, the latest "partial class of Sigs" would be more appropriate.
