Quartz- site is planning a yearlong party to celebrate Arizona 100th Birthday! The fun begins on the weekend of Feb. 12, 2011 and continues through February 14, 2012. The next meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 2nd - 4pm at the Senior Center. Arizona and Oregon are the only two states that became a state on Valen- tine’s Day, the Day of the Heart! The proceeds from this annual event are given in their entirety to organizations in town to help with the needs of this commu- nity. Last year the proceeds were given to the Salvation Army, the Food Bank and The Angel Tree. And, their annual Giveaway Raffle, the proceed go toward their Scholarship Fund for our local Students for Continuing Education.
