Sisterhood: Chapter officers have made it a priority to provide frequent opportunities to strengthen sisterhood, especially with our newest member class. We find that sisterhood has a role in every aspect of chapter operations and is the foundation of our prosperity. Philanthropy: Our chapter has increased our involvement in various Sigma Kappa philanthropies throughout the term, and we continue to find new ways to become involved in the community. In addition to surpassing our fundraising goal for the Walk to End Alzheimer's, we held a recycling drive for Inherit the Earth and are planning a blanket drive to benefit the Maine Seacoast Mission. Positive Standards: Another goal throughout the year has been to implement a "positive standards" system within our chapter to promote positivity and acts of kindness among members. Our goal was to reverse the negative connotation associated with standards while boosting morale. We have implemented a "Shiny Pearl of the Week" where members can submit names of sisters who have shown them support or kind gestures for a shoutout during chapter! Chapter Officers Dear Beta Sigma sisters, I am writing to thank you for the honor of being selected as a recipient of the Sigma Kappa Beta Sigma Endowed Scholarship. Being part of this sisterhood has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my college journey, and I am immensely proud to say that I am a Sigma Kappa. Receiving this scholarship from a sorority and family that I love so deeply means more to me than words can express. This award not only alleviates some of my financial burden but also reaffirms the strength and generosity of our Sigma Kappa community. Your generosity will have a profound influence on my academic journey, enabling me to focus more fully on my studies and continue in extracurricular activities, such as Sigma Kappa. My Sigma Kappa family has enriched my college experience countlessly, giving me lifelong friendships, invaluable mentorship and leadership opportunities, and a true sense of belonging. I am inspired by our values of friendship, loyalty, personal growth, and service every day, and I aim to continue fostering these values for the rest of my life. Thank you for your continued support and belief in our sisters; we would not be here without the effort and love you put in day-to- day. Together, we truly embody the spirit of sisterhood, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, and I am committed to making you proud as a recipient of the Sigma Kappa Scholarship. Loyally, Jordan Hunter '21 C ongratulations to Jordan Hunter '21, our 2024 Beta Sigma Scholarship recipient, who is a senior majoring in genetics.
