In January 2025, the House Corporation Board will begin the process of electing the new board for 2025-26. There is typically a need for two to three new board members to replace those rolling off. Watch for more information in early 2025 about the responsibilities of being a House Corporation Board member or contact Christie Gillespie '85 at chrislg1222@gmail.com. The Annual Meeting of the Corporation Board is tentatively set for Saturday, April 19, 2025, starting at 10 a.m. Eastern. The meeting will be held at the chapter house, and all alumnae are invited to attend in person; however, there will also be an option to join via Zoom. Being an advisor to the chapter is another volunteer opportunity that can be fun and fulfilling. For more information, contact Advisory Board Supervisor Madison Enos '18 at madyenos5200@gmail.com. Keeping Busy at Sigma Kappa RENOVATIONS, CONVENTION, AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES SUMMER 2024 BRINGS IMPROVEMENTS Every summer, the House Corporation Board tries to complete one project that makes a major improvement to the chapter house. This summer, over $150,000 was invested to renovate the large commercial kitchen and adjoining kitchenette to not only upgrade the aesthetics but also to improve health and safety concerns. Everything was removed from the kitchen to repaint the entire space and install durable epoxy flooring. Additionally, kitchen equipment was deep cleaned and checked for safety and a large freezer was replaced. The kitchenette got a makeover with new custom cabinets, a sparkly granite countertop, and new mini refrigerators for late meal storage. The chapter has been enjoying a new commercial Keurig that can brew just about any kind of coffee drink imaginable! The external white railings around the chapter house were also replaced with a more durable, rust-resistant material. The landscape was refreshed in time for recruitment in early fall. Because of the continued support from alumnae, the House Corporation Board is able to complete projects like these that are critically important in providing a quality, safe, and homey environment for the collegiate members. Many thanks to Vice President of Facilities Gina Sweet Burtness '84 and House Director Shannon Patrohay for leading these renovation efforts. Thank you, Beta Sigmas, for your continued support of the chapter and House Corporation Board.
