Oak Lane Triumph Virginia Kappa | Virginia Tech | Summer 2024 T he Virginia Kappa AVC and undergraduate chapter are following up one of the most successful years in chapter history with a terrific start to 2024. CARLSON LEADERSHIP ACADEMY On February 9-11, AVC Directors Cullin Hackler '71 and Matt Rowe '18 and Chapter Counselor Jay Sage '84 attended Carlson Leadership Academy with all nine undergraduate executive committee members. VA KAPPA SCHOLARS The fall 2023 Fraternity and Sorority Life Academic Report noted that nine of our members achieved a 4.0 GPA and 61 made the dean's list. The chapter has a cumulative 3.4 GPA. These are among the highest academics in chapter history! ALUMNI SUPPORT As part of our contract with SigEp National Headquarters and Pennington & Company, over 1,200 alumni received a fundraising mailing asking them to donate to the VA Kappa SigEp Learning Community Support Fund, which provides the AVC maximum flexibility to support the chapter's immediate needs with financial aid, leadership training, guest speakers, mental health fitness, and more. If you have yet to donate or can give again at this time, you may do so at give.sigep.org/give/212393/#!/donation/checkout (or use the QR code on the back page). MEMBER RECRUITING Over 20 men joined Virginia Kappa in February. This brings membership to 166 strong, setting another record as the largest in the chapter's history! We had 45 amazing brothers graduate in May 2024, and we look forward to following their lives as alumni.
