Wiechman Mabel and Joseph Friedman Charitable Trust Greek House Chefs P i Deuteron and Chi Deuteron Chapters of Phi Gamma Delta teamed up last fall to raise more than $30,000 for leukemia and lymphoma research at the KU Cancer Center. Our Undergraduate Brothers also had the privilege of hosting Dr. Roy Jensen, Director of the Cancer Center, at the Chapter House. In total, 103 donors affiliated with the two Chapters—Graduates, Undergraduates, parents, relatives, and key vendors—responded to the call for contributions. The joint philanthropic effort rekindled the spirit of cooperation that the Chapters initially started in the 1970s in memory of Rod Morgan, Kansas State '72, who died of leukemia. For more than two decades, on the Friday before the Kansas-Kansas State football game, Undergraduate Brothers from both Chapters would run the game ball from Lawrence to Manhattan, or Manhattan to Lawrence. On game day, the Chapter Presidents delivered the ball to the officiating crew when they met with the Jayhawk and Wildcat team captains at midfield for the coin toss. Kevin Nunnally '83, John Thomas '83, Kirk Williams '83, Chris Hupe, Kansas State '93, and Rob Gillespie, Kansas State '94 have continued working this year with Roy Jensen, director of the KU Cancer Center, to plan for the 2024 fundraising project. The honor roll below recognizes those with ties to Pi Deuteron who contributed through the KU Endowment Association. Thank you for your support!
