As the 15-year owner of the Mountain Quail Café, and current Mayor of Quartzsite, it was my honor to per- form this ceremony. During the event it was my pleasure to introduce the buyers of the café, Jim and Marlene Speakman and fam- ily to the community. They bring many years of experience in the food service industry to our town. Also, I took the opportunity to thank all my employees for their 15 years of dedicated service, allowing me to keep my doors open. I then thanked my customers for mak- ing it possible for me to pay my bills. Here and now, I say thank you to all my loyal customers who were not able to attend the ceremony. It is my fondest wish that the com- munity will continue to support the Mountain Quail Café as you have during the past 15 years. The sup- port of this local business has gener- ated more than one million dollars in sales tax revenue to the state and has paid payroll to a yearly average of 22 employees. The support of our local- ly owned and operated businesses is vital to our growth. The town's eminent growth is due to the dedication of the entire Town | S R G-B 410 E.
