RUTGERS UNIVERSITY SPRING 2024 The Raritanian I hope all is well and everyone has had a great start to 2024. As always, it is an honor to report on the progress of our new chapter. FUNDING OUR FUTURE I would like to extend my sincere thank you to all the alumni members who contributed to our fundraising effort. So far, we have raised more than $23,000. Every dollar goes toward the NJ Beta Balanced Man Scholarship Fund or the Jack Witemeyer SigEp Learning Community (SLC) Fund. These two funds are critical to the survival of our chapter. In addition to monetary donations, if any alumni members live locally in the New Jersey area and would like to support the chapter as a mentor or career coach, please let us know. You can contact us through our social media links. I would like to thank all the AVC board members, mentors, and volunteers who currently support the undergraduates. UNDERGRADUATE PROGRESS In January, we held our annual Balanced Man Scholarship Dinner. The dinner was a huge success. More than 100 guests attended at the Rutgers Club on the Livingston Campus. The undergraduates presented 10 finalists with $4,000 in scholarship money, and Grand President Bradley C. Nahrstadt, Monmouth '89, was the keynote speaker. In addition, the undergraduates extended more than 10 bids to potential new members, all from the leads they received from the scholarship dinner outreach. Our chapter has grown from approximately 30 to 40 members this year. Looking good! During this semester, the undergraduates also completed all the requirements to apply for SLC accreditation. They are currently waiting for a reply from headquarters. If accredited, the undergraduates will be one more step toward chartering and will receive a huge discount on insurance costs. This will allow them to provide more programming with the dollars saved on insurance. We hope to have more information on alumni social events coming soon, so please follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Have a nice spring and summer. Fraternally, Mike Schnur '87 AVC President S igEp's courageous leadership in the fraternity world is differentiated by the people we bring together and the powerful experiences and supportive environments we provide. Our volunteers are key to this leadership. 43 brothers strong, New Jersey Beta AVC is working together to support the future of New Jersey Beta. As SigEp welcomes new members into its brotherhood at Rutgers University, volunteers are investing their time to ensure the long-term growth and success of the chapter through connection with you, our alumni, and managing assets and corporate health to reopen the chapter! We will need a team of volunteers to serve as key chapter operations volunteers, ranging from chapter counselor to faculty fellow and all the mentors in between. While the members of New Jersey Beta AVC are proud to support the chapter and our fraternity within these roles, there are many ways for alumni to volunteer with SigEp to shape the organization for the better.
