UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO SPRING 2024 Updates from Colorado Alpha S igEp HQ formally applied to restart the Chapter in a 26-page application submitted to Stephanie Paige Baldwin and the CU IFC on February 8, 2024. A formal presentation to the CU IFC by HQ's director of expansion, Adrian Galera, took place in Boulder on March 5, 2024. Shortly thereafter, the CU IFC voted in favor of SigEp's return to Boulder in fall 2025. We should all thank Adrian for his diligent and effective efforts! And a special thanks to our chapter brother and past Grand President, Chris Bittman '85, for a persuasive letter of recommendation! That's it—no other approvals needed—we have SigEp HQ and the university's permissions to restart our on-campus Chapter at the University of Colorado at Boulder! THE HOUSE AT 1005 BROADWAY The house is being well-maintained and improved. A new master tenant, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, will occupy the house for the next three academic years starting this fall. We are using the same professional Boulder- based property management company, who has proven reliable. Our Chapter owes a debt of gratitude to AVC President Jeff Willie '84 and AVC Head of Housing Operations Ken Crawford '83 for their diligent work to steward our historic house until the Chapter is ready to reoccupy it. Even now, we are investing to make sure that the house is a premier facility when the Chapter is ready to move back in (fall 2027 at earliest). For example, we're in the process of replacing all the windows on the second and third floors with more durable and energy-efficient ones. SAVE THE DATE: HOMECOMING 2024 CU's Homecoming will be on September 21. We're in the early stages of planning, but look forward to a fun weekend of reconnecting with brothers you went to school with and meeting new brothers. DO YOU WANT TO BE AN ERA CAPTAIN? As part of our efforts to reconnect with Boulder alumni, we're working on identifying "era captains." Effective communication, with and from SigEp at Boulder's entire alumni community, is best served by rekindling relationships with brothers who went to school during the same periods. Era captains will coordinate communication to and from the AVC, brothers of the same era, and other era captains. We want to continue to build on the amazing relationships fostered during your time as an undergraduate SigEp. If you're interested in being involved as an era captain, please contact Scott Malson '82 at s_malson@hotmail.com. Show Your Support for the Chapter Cleared for Our Return Now the work to get ready begins. If you'd like to help, please contact AVC Trustee Chuck Stegman '81 at sigepfincomp@gmail.com. The Chapter House at 1005 Broadway, circa 1940. Notice the University Memorial Center didn't exist yet! An October 2018 meeting of the SigEp National Board of Directors at the Chapter House. Early CU Boulder SigEp Chapter with their housemother.
