If you cannot make that time there are food boxes at the Horizon Bank, RoadRunner and Coyote Fresh Gro- cery Stores, and the Dollar General. Quartzsite Transfer Station is now WINTER HOURS thru March: Sunday thru Wednesday, 7:30am to 2:30pm. From APRIL 1st thru SEPTEMBER 30th the Transfer Station is open: Sunday thru Tuesday 6am-1pm. (When temperatures reach over 110 degrees, they will close early.) NO DUMPING! Please don't abuse the free services at Quartzsite transfer station by dumping garbage outside gates when closed. Be sure to thank the staff, too! The transfer station is located north of Town, just off Hwy. 95, near the Sewer Treatment Plant. SPRING FLING First of all, I gotta say a BIG thank you to everyone who came out to support the ViSaWen Women's Club during the McMullen Valley Chamber of Commerce's Spring Fling festival. You all were absolute- ly awesome!!! Twenty-six pies sold in under two hours. Between the pie sales and tickets on the quilt, over $900 was raised toward our 2025 Community Grant Program. Con- gratulations to Deb Hugh who won the beautiful quilt made and donat- ed by Ann Erwin. ELECTION OF OFFICERS Members will soon elect their new officers for the 2024-2026 term. In March the Nominating Committee will be elected. The Committee will have the month of March to seek candidates from our 37 member organization to run for office: president, first vice president, second vice president, recording secretary and treasurer. Elections will be held in April regular meeting with installations occurring at the April social. SW DISTRICT CONVENTION The next exciting function for members will be the the GFWC-AZ Southwestern District Convention. Hosts for this year's event is the Quartzsite Women's Club. It's a fun meeting that ladies from five clubs making up the district get to attend and find out how our club activities compare. Those annul reports pro- gram chairs drafted and the Dean of Programs finalized and agonized over in January will be recognized. There will be speeches by GFWC dignitaries, opportunity drawings, 50/50 and other games played in addition to learning about the cur- rent state GFWC business. NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be March 7, 2024, 1:00 pm at the clubhouse lo- cated at 66918 Avenue C, Salome, Arizona.
