In fact, AI will fully transform at least 140 of 150 fields of study at UT, as our circulated Capital Campaign 2 draft plan had forecast in 2020. This plan included the impact and scope of AI on our young students along with describing the UT-Beta funding structure for a house. One of Several Specific Properties The rendering of 1900 Rio Grande pictured has two proposed facilities: one for the UT AI facility and one for hotel Ella. The existing Wooten house is in front—the conceived Beta Omicron house—with the existing Ella restaurant enabling a practical meal plan for the Chapter. This location, as are the other two, is a significant-scale increase and permanent Beta Omicron housing solution. It would also support UT while leveraging federal and foundation funding. It is appropriate and necessary for the Chapter to speak as a super-majority regarding the specific parameters and locations for long-term housing. In addition, the Chapter should agree on GPA metrics along with with the standard it has published since 2016—3.50 GPA. Chapter advisors are also welcome to state their opinions about housing locations. That said, the Chapter's present and historical utilization of university facilities and programs is exactly what we have emphasized since 2014 and will hopefully continue in every possible way. Academics, AI, and Recruiting In the near years, the societal and higher education impact of AI will become more fully apparent. Academics and AI proficiency can significantly improve recruiting. Education in the opinion of many is presently a highly effective and best use of AI. It gives educators and faculty time—a coveted resource—for one- on-one engagement. It is also highly engaging and effective for the student. In perhaps five to seven years, AI, in the view of experts, is likely to be more efficient, knowledgeable, and communicative than humans have ever been while still improving exponentially. It's a new era for our young men. AI has massive support from our federal government—the world's largest purchaser— from UT, and from universities in general. At the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos January 2024, talk and planning for AI were was everywhere. National Fraternity Housing Model Discussions Beta Theta Pi National Fraternity in first quarter of 2023 made an overture to TBSAF based on the National Fraternity using seven chapter houses they owned as collateral to help fund a new UT Austin Beta Omicron house. This is unrelated to the joint UT-Beta Omicron plan described here. There were several discussions followed by a meeting at General Convention in August 2023. We would be thrilled if these resulted in a successful project. Yours in _kai_, Gregg Wheeler Young '69 TBSAF VP, TBEF President gregg.young.bjy@gmail.com D.
