2 Making the Most of Every Moment A Review of the A Review of the Fall 2023 Semester Fall 2023 Semester W e began the year with a successful recruitment process led by Vice President of Recruitment Megan Gray '20. We recruited 40 new members through primary recruitment and another six through COB. Our new members were initiated on October 22, and we could not be more excited to continue growing with our new sisters! In correlation with Purdue's Family Weekend, Chairman Emily Johnson '21 organized a "Dude's Day" centered around the Purdue vs. Syracuse game. The day was filled with barbecuing, cornhole and, of course, cheering on our Boilermakers! As is tradition, Beta Sigma joined the Greater Lafayette Community in their annual Walk to End Alzheimer's on October 21. The chapter raised over $20,000 for the Alzheimer's Association this year, thanks to the hard work of Vice President of Philanthropic Services Macy Lips '21. We also hosted our annual barn dance, coordinated by our internal social chairman, Hope Weber '21, on October 27 at Vignette Farms. The members had so much fun dancing the night away! Later, we teamed up with the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega to compete in Phi Mu's annual Miracle Mania competition. This competition involves raising money, creating a sheet sign, and choreographing a dance. Despite the tough competition from other sororities and fraternities on campus, Sigma Kappa and Alpha Tau Omega came out as champions for the second year in a row! As always, our sisters remain heavily involved on campus. Leah Brier '21 works for the Purdue football team as a student athletic trainer and Katherine Beaumont '22 is on the Golduster Dance Team. Addison Coyle '21 is the philanthropy director for Omega Chi Epsilon, the Chemical Engineering Honor Society, and Erin Creager '20 is a host for Purdue Old Master, Dr. Sandra Olson. Thank you for continuing to support Beta Sigma as we strive to make this year the best one yet!
