Brothers Strive to Lead in Our Community
A
fter returning from a warm and successful summer, the brotherhood is excited to
continue our momentum from last spring.
Scholastic Athletes
Lambda placed 6th in fraternities with a spring GPA of 3.43 and a cumulative GPA of
3.5. This also puts us well above the undergraduate average of 3.3 and the all-fraternity
average of 3.2. (These academic achievements also happened to place us one position
ahead of FarmHouse...) Weston Schweke #1855 has done a great job as scholarship
chairman, working on new ways to help members study and fill out scholarships.
Lambda has been on an athletic hot streak as well. All three Spittoon games were
resounding victories for Lambda, leaving no room for doubt in the basketball and softball
games last spring. We look forward to keeping the Spittoon in its rightful place in the
football game this fall. We also reclaimed the Minnesota Royal Trophy this spring after
a brief one-year vacation with Clovia. Of course, we have also enjoyed seeing alumni at
Gopher football games and tailgates!
Keeping It Professional
Another recent brotherhood event was a fun and educational tour of my family's dairy farm
in Princeton, Minnesota. The Parent's Day event was a great success as well, complete with
tours, a presentation, and lunch. This was in no small part from the efforts of our wonderful
house director, Mrs. G. She has been hard at work preparing to kickstart our alumni
mentorship program as well as assisting with résumés to prepare us for career fairs.
Please read her article on the last page and consider being a mentor if you haven't already!
The Lambda brothers are excited for another great year!
Fraternally,
