ALPHA GAMMA DELTA Making Our Sisters Proud A s we begin our 102nd year at The University of Alabama, we are proud to celebrate our members' academic and philanthropic success! We also want to highlight how our members have been excelling in leadership this fall. This year, many of our members are serving in leadership roles across UA's largest and most prominent student organizations. Rebecca Wilson '20 is serving as president of Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger, an organization designed to raise funds for the West Alabama Food Bank in competition with Auburn University. Additionally, Sarah Kate Sheridan '20 is serving as co-president of B+, an organization that helps raise funding for childhood cancer. The willingness to serve thrives among members of our younger pledge classes as well. Kate Wills '22 is president of UA's Special Olympics program. One of our newly initiated members, Parrys Washington '23, started an on-campus organization called "The Joy Project," and she has begun collecting toys to give back to the Tuscaloosa community this holiday season. Our members are also involved in Student Government Association with three members, Annalisa Pusateri '23, Finley Ryan Richardson '23, and Samantha Simmons '23, serving as First Year Councilors and Hidy Kirkpatrick '22 serving as a senator. Six members serve as part of Capstone Men and Women, working as official ambassadors of the university: Betsy Chambers '20, Anna Kate Cavnar '20, Aliee Reed '20, Tori Johnston '21, Sarah Kate Smalley '21, Abby Pate '22. Our members are also making a difference in the Greek community, with Anna Blackwell '23, Audrey Kilgore '21, Gabriella Gaston '22, and Rhodes Reddick '21 serving as Greek Ambassadors, Hannah Hurd '22 VP of Membership for Greek Ambassadors, and our very own Savanna Shaw '21 serving as the director of judicial affairs on the Panhellenic Executive Council. Our sisterhood has prioritized our philanthropic focus with Fighting Hunger by giving back to the Tuscaloosa and greater West Alabama communities, where food insecurity is so prevalent. More than 300 bags were packed during October for Hunger Action Month to be donated to a local nonprofit organization, Meals on Wheels, and local elementary schools. Additionally, after every home football game, our members participate in the 5th Quarter program, packing leftover food in the Zone to be donated to the West Alabama Food Bank alongside the members of Phi Gamma Delta. This football season we surpassed 100,000 pounds of food donated! As always, Psi Chapter values scholarship, and we are proud to have achieved the highest GPA among all National Panhellenic sororities for 10 semesters in a row. Our final highlight for this issue is the most recent; Alpha Gam received the Kathleen Cramer Spirit Cup for placing first in our sorority Homecoming competition! We are so proud of our members and the sisterhood that makes our accomplishments possible. Loyally, Sarah Kate Smalley '21 Chapter President Six of our members serve on Capstone Men and Women.
