We are committed to a live-in experience that is safe, comfortable, and competitive. As with any major project, knowing your "why" is vital! Like the young ladies who live in and enjoy the house today, each of the eight founding members was a progressive woman who selflessly contributed to the foundation and growth of Alpha Gamma Delta. The legacy we are guided by and wish to uphold and the wonderful individuals who enjoy the house are our "why." Guided by the Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose, the undergraduates strive to attain a higher standard, thereby improving their lives, the lives of those around them, and the communities in which they live. This is demonstrated by their philanthropic efforts, campus involvement, and scholastic achievement. This past spring, a historical marker was installed in front of the house during IRD, and it states, "For 100 years, Alpha Gamm Delts has proudly contributed to the world's work in The University of Alabama Community because of the joy of service thereby bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied." The current house has been serving the chapter for 10 years, but memories from the old residence are preserved in the form of house keys which have been set in cement outside the front door, in several pieces of furniture that were retained in the transition, and in the donor wall featuring sisters who generously supported the new construction and our future. Sisterhood is not defined by a structure or confined to one place, but it is present wherever we are planted. The House Association looks forward to the continued success of the chapter and supporting the legacy by providing a space where sisterhood, service, and education can be cultivated.
