ΔΔΔ Delta Xi Chapter at the University of Missouri Fall 2023 Crescent Ne T he fall 2023 semester is nearing its end, and Delta Xi House Corporation Board is excited about what we've seen happening around the Tri Delta house! In August, we welcomed Julie Criss as our new house director. Julie comes with an extensive background in property management and has been a wonderful addition to Delta Xi. She is working hard to help provide an outstanding environment for our collegiate members to Live, Learn, and Lead! Our open house on September 9 was a big success! It was wonderful to welcome back Tri Delta alumnae, and we loved meeting our newest members and their families during Mizzou Family Weekend. The board was especially excited to showcase our newly finished exterior renovation! Since the fall of 2021, Delta Xi House Corporation has been busy researching, planning, and working with a team of professionals to implement and execute the beautiful exterior renovation at 901 Richmond. Various needs were identified, outlining the scope and magnitude of the project. As you may recall, in the summer of 2022, we completed work on roofing, gutters, our historic wood trim, railings, and dormers. This summer, we proudly completed an extensive renovation of hardscaping and landscaping. A FEW HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROJECT: • New limestone front stairs now span the width of the patio, emphasizing the large scale of the house. • The entry walkway was widened to create a beautiful landing and welcoming entry. • New stairs leading to the front sidewalk were curved, widened, and flanked with beautiful brick and stone walls. • The curved, stone-capped, brick retaining walls not only solved our steep and eroding yard but also added an impressive street view to the project. • A new stone and brick Delta Delta Delta monument sign was built on the northeast corner of the lawn. • Extensive new landscaping was added to enhance the beauty of the project and provide opportunities for more colorful additions throughout the year. • Exterior lighting was added, highlighting the beautiful (nearly 100-year-old) columns, and additional pathway lighting was placed to enhance security.
