Fontes said, "Monday was a day to celebrate Election Heroes, those dedi- cated to upholding democracy's values. I had the honor of presenting the John Lewis Youth Award to recognize one exceptional individual. Congrat- ulations to Sara for this well-deserved recognition! In addition, we pre- sented a Medallion Award to another incredible soul for their lifetime of service. Marilyn McFate's unwavering 75-year commitment to democracy is truly inspiring. Both of these remarkable women began their journey protecting democracy at the age of 17, and I'm in awe of their contribu- tions. Thanks to Marilyn, Sara, and all the dedicated Arizonans who've made voting possible for generations." Marilyn McFate honored at Arizona State Capitol | C P B
