TEXAS ALPHANS THROUGH THE AGES
Robert Johnson '64
What made Phi Psi at UT the right fraternity for you?
Phi Psi's successful recruitment efforts made me want to
be a part of the fraternity as an undergraduate.
How would you describe the impact that Texas Alpha
has had on your life?
Texas Alpha provided me with meaningful lifetime
relationships and business contacts.
What are some of your favorite Texas Alphan
memories?
One of my best Phi Psi memories was participating in,
and winning, Varsity Carnival.
What was the biggest challenge Texas Alpha faced
while you were an undergraduate? What did you learn
from that?
While we faced a shortage of money, brothers were able to
pull together for great Texas Alpha gatherings.
What inspires you give back to Texas Alpha?
I'm glad to pay it forward in hopes that new brothers will
experience the same Phi Psi experience as I had. I also
chose to give back to honor the lifetime relationships I
have enjoyed.
Do you get together with your Texas Alphan brothers?
I'm grateful to gather in person at least once a month with
local brothers and annually at Founders Day.
Do you have a few career highlights you would like
to share?
I am proud to say I own and manage the oldest Ford
dealership in Austin.
Is there anything about your family you would like
to share?
I've been married to Sheila for 54 years. She has lifelong
friends who are wives of my brothers.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
In my spare time, I enjoy big game hunting, golf
and traveling.
