& The Lion The Ladybug P H I M U F R A T E R N I T Y A T O L E M I S S FALL 2023 W hen we called on our sisters to help us reach our debt-reduction goal for the renovation of our Chapter House, they listened! Today, we are less than $33,000 away from that $300,000 goal. I extend my sincere gratitude to the 64 sisters who helped us get to this point and am confident we will reach our goal in the Sisterhood Begins at Home campaign in no time. If you have not yet had a chance to do so, you can still leave your mark on our sisterhood! I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your time at 73 Sorority Row and think about what the sisterhood means to you. As you look back, is there someone who comes to mind who made your sorority experience even more special? Was it a pledge class sister or Big? Your mother, grandmother, or aunt? Or maybe one of our beloved longtime staff members, Gracie, Willie, Denise, or Deloris, who were there for you throughout your college years and watched as you grew into the woman you are today? Perhaps Phi Mu became more special to you when your daughter joined, creating a tighter bond that only a sisterhood could provide. Whomever it may be, a gift in their honor to the Alpha Delta campaign is a wonderful way to show your appreciation! Simply dedicate your donation by listing the name of the honoree on your pledge form, and we will notify them of your gift. Whether it's because of these loved ones we gained in Alpha Delta or the memories we hold near and dear, Phi Mu will always remain important to each and every one of us. You can express your gratitude for our sisterhood with a gift to Sisterhood Begins at Home. Every donation brings us closer to our goal and ensures that Phi Mu will not only be financially stable following this renovation and expansion but will also remain competitive at Ole Miss. This fall, 196 new sisters walked through the doors of 73 Sorority Row to find the people who will make their sorority experience more special, just as we did. GIVE BACK IN HONOR OF A LOVED ONE Embracing Opportunities to Bond and Give Back Phi Mu Welcomes 196 New Members and Celebrates CASA Encore Success D uring the largest recruitment the University of Mississippi has ever seen, with over 2,200 potential new members, Phi Mu welcomed 196 women home on Bid Day. Bid Day was celebrated at The Simmons House in Water Valley, Mississippi, where new and current members bonded over food, dancing, and newfound friendships. Our Phi Retreat this year was hosted at Farmstead Florals, and everyone had a fabulous time. Alpha Delta is now home to 548 faithful sisters. To kick off the school year, Phi Mu participated in CASA Encore, a dance competition and fundraiser across all College Panhellenic Council sororities, where we raised over $17,000. Our theme this year was Hannah Montana, and all member classes were eligible to participate! With our help, the Panhellenic community raised over $450,000 for CASA of North Mississippi. Further into the semester, we held Big/Little reveal. We look forward to new member initiation as well as all Chapter programming opportunities that encourage sisterhood within our Chapter. Though these are just a few of our events, aside from Chapter meetings, sisterhood events, and socials, Phi Mu Alpha Delta continues to take pride not only within our Chapter but also in the Panhellenic community as a whole. Looking forward to the remainder of the semester and school year, we are confident that all our members will become immersed in the Phi Mu environment will feel comfortable embracing heir true selves with over 500 women in their corner. We will continue to keep sisters updated through the alumnae Facebook group!
