Camryn Roche '22, Mia Spellman '22, and Brynn Smith '22 are prepared to open the doors and greet PNMs on philanthropy round! Mizzou Golden Girls Ella Phillips '21 and Alena Bennett '20 are ready to cheer on the Tigers at the first home game. Alpha Delta is ready for another incredible year on Mizzou's campus! Our members arrived at the "pink palace" in early August to begin our recruitment school. The executive board's goal was to make these events upbeat and get our members excited to welcome home the member class of 2023. We accomplished this by having a coffee truck, chapter gifts, and several bonding activities throughout the week. We welcomed 77 new members on Bid Day, which was themed "GPhi State of Mind," a spin on "New York State of Mind." Under the direction of our Membership Vice President Ena Mesan '21 and Recruitment Chairman Natalie Tuttle '20, our chapter saw the best retention numbers since 2015! We also saw a 13% improvement on our preference priority, securing the top spot on campus. Alpha Delta is one of 10 Gamma Phi Beta chapters to also secure top spot. The following day, our chapter bonded at a pool party sisterhood event. We had a cornhole tournament, trivia, and a picnic by the pool with prizes! Gamma Phi Beta participated in one of the oldest Missouri Traditions, Homecoming! Homecoming was a focal point during the month of October. This year, we were grouped with the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Our members had a great time participating in all the various homecoming activities! Some of our favorite events were Decorate the District, Fling (a skit and dance show for the rest of the Greek community), and the annual parade. We also have the privilege to volunteer for our beneficiary, Girls on the Run, by participating in their 5K this December. Our members will hand out water, assist with happy-hair stations, and cheer on the runners as they crossed the finish line. One sister will even be dressing up as Truman Jr.! Additionally, we hosted our beloved Moonball tournament in late October at the Mizzou Recreation Center. Many organizations around campus participated together to raise money for our philanthropy. We're excited to continue supporting these wonderful causes this school year. This semester is almost over, and it has been an absolute blessing to serve as Gamma Phi Beta's president for the 2023 executive term.
