Join the Airborne and Special Operations Museum for their Distinguished Speaker Series with James Fenelon on National Airborne Day. Fenelon is the author of "Four Hours of Fury," the untold story of the American 17th Airborne Division's combat jump over the Rhine River in March 1945. His most recent book, "Angels Against the Sun," follows the 11th Airborne Division's campaign through the Pacific and their eventual landing in Japan as the vanguard of the occupation forces. Both books are available for purchase in the Museum Store. All active-duty service members get into this event for free. They will be "Celebrating Success In Many Forms," highlighting those who have accomplished goals in their respec- tive areas. They will have guest speakers, job opportunities, resources, free food, backpacks, school supplies, hygiene products and more. There will be entertainment with live music, performances, dancing and games. This event is supported by A1 Cook Off's Black BBQ, where top grill masters will compete for the Championship Belt. 25% of the proceeds will go to L3 Brand Community Alli- ance to continue to serve the community. The cook off is organized by Mr. Bruce Yeomans, Elizabeth Stiff and planning team. Key food influencers, chefs and celebrity judges will help decide who takes home the win. 9 a.m. Join a park naturalist at our Long Valley Farm Access for a birdwatching walk to find our resident birds and the less frequent species just passing through. They will start early to help keep things cool, but bring weather-appropriate clothes and some water! You will be using the Merlin Bird ID app (free and available in both Android and iOS app stores).
