Lillian Edwina MacFee December 22, 1922-June 27, 2023 Lillian, A long time dear friend of so many and a longtime volunteer at the Quartzsite Salvation Army. She was such a blessing to so many of us. We all wanted to be as active and positive as you, Miss Lillian. You were a "mama" to so many of us. You made it to 100 1/2 years! Love you forever, your TSA family Summer in the desert certainly has made its arrival in Quartzsite. These temperatures and humidity we are and will continue to experience are difficult for many. We have been of- fering daily a bottle of water with an electrolyte packet attached. We do have Heat Relief Packets with items that were purchased from a grant we received for Quartzsite and Eh- renberg first responders and our in- need residents provided by Arizona Public Service APS. If you know or see folks out and about, please let me know. I can provide a bag of goodies for them. Please take care of each other and PLEASE check on your neighbors as well. It is back to school time already. Quartzsite starts August 2, 2023. We can provide school supplies and backpacks for our local kiddos. I do have a supply list for each grade. Please call and we can set a time and have the kids come in and pick out their supplies. Also, we do have a lot of children's clothing nicely arranged and sized by volunteer jolly Jane. Going on vacation for two weeks in August. No shopping days: Tuesday August 15, Wednes- day August 16, and Thursday August 17th. The following week we will be closed August 22, 23, and 24. We will resume our normal shopping sched- ule on Tuesday, August 29th. The Service Center is always available with a phone call for urgent assis- tance. Call my cell phone. Don't forget our free adult and child diaper assistance program we have available. This is a monthly program with a simple sign-up pro- cedure. Please ask. We also have a large assortment of medical devices that are available on a loan-out basis with a refund- able deposit. Please ask. We continue to have free shoes, socks, and miscellaneous items out front of the store and a free clothing rack and food available inside each day. Watch for our daily specials of ½ price items. Sometimes these are one day specials. Come and see what we have for you. We continue to recycle prescrip- tion eyeglasses, old prescription medication, ink cartridges and cell phones. Drop off anytime we are open. Thanks. We are now on our Summer Hours. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thurs- day, 8AM to Noon. Urgent needs always with a phone call. Donations when open or with other arrange- ments. PLEASE DO NOT leave items after hours. Help request: Do you have a mu- sic interest and would like to or- ganize our music CD's? They need categorization by genre. Do you like to work outside??? Our parking lot timbers need resetting. I do have some heavy flat hose that could be staked to delineate parking slots. If anyone knows where we can get railroad rails or timbers, please let me know. If interested, please come see me or call. Thanks ……thinking ahead for fall time! Please understand that our build- ing has no windows, no air exchange ventilation, our aisles are tight, and we have many senior volunteers with health concerns. We are ask- ing for personal space of six feet (camel length) and recommending a face covering- which we provide, for both us and our amazing shoppers. We appreciate your understanding.
