The price is $45 and includes all paint and ribbon supplies as well as assistance and personalization. The choices for this event will be a topiary tree or a watermelon slice. Watermelon can also be a lemon or lime. It's your choice to get creative with no experience needed. They can help finish up or add touch-ups when you have painted as much as you want. MEET THE INSTRUMENTS 300 MAIDEN LANE 2 p.m. Join the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra as they partner with the Cumberland Coun- ty Public Library for an Instrument Paintin' On The Patio Meet and Greet. Children will have the opportunity to learn about the different instruments of the orchestra and see them up close and personal. Musician-educators will hold a brief presenta- tion about the different instrument families and demonstrate playing some of the instruments. After the presentation, participants will be allowed to touch, play and explore the different instruments they learned about! TUESDAY, JULY 25 THURSDAY, JULY 20 DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER SERIES AIRBORNE & SPECIAL OPERATIONS MUSEUM 6 p.m. Join the Airborne and Special Operations Museum for their Distinguished Speaker Series with Dr. Marcus Cox. Cox will give a lecture on the 2nd Ranger Battalion in Korea in recognition of the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement. Cox is Dean and Founding Director of the Gillis-Jones Institute for Ethics and Leadership and Professor of History at Fayetteville State University. All active-duty service members get in for free. PUT ON FOR MY CITY CROWN COMPLEX 3 p.m. Dr. Zelda Lockhart will read from her newly released novel "Trinity," which is partially set in Fayetteville. She will be engaging the audience through story- telling, demonstrating the importance of stories for connecting with our loved ones, our community and across identities. Copies of the book will be available for purchase with the Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library, Inc. Lockhart is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing and African American Literature and a Distinguished Endowed Fellow in the Language & Literature De- partment at North Carolina Central University. SUNDAY, JULY 23 FRIDAY, JULY 21 SUNSET SERIES CONCERT CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDENS 6 p.m. Have you heard the buzz?? The Garden Sunset Series is the place to bee on July 21. Bring your honey, your queen, or your whole hive out to hear amazing music, nip the Moonshine nectar, dine on a variety of delights, and create sweet memories at Cape Fear Botanical Garden. Featuring Riggsbee Road, an all-female newgrass band popular with audien - ces across the Southeast. There will also be Moonshine Tasting and Cocktails with Mixologist Rob Clayton.
