SATURDAY, JULY 8 HORTICULTURE, HOOCH & OUT- LAWS IN FAST CARS CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDEN 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Cat Yoga is back! Please take a paws and join Cumberland County Animal Services for a fun filled morning of relaxation. They will have two classes, one at 10 a.m. and the other at 11:30 a.m. The class will be an hour long. Please bring your own yoga mat and a $10 cash donation to the Animal Medical Fund. Space is limited so please email aorgan@cumberland- countync.gov to reserve your spot. 10 a.m. Do you tend to only read Fiction books? Ever wondered about other genres in the Library? Join Throckmorton Library for a Book Picnic where you will be able to take a "taste" of the other types of books they have here at the Library! WOMEN IN POWER WORKSHOP 2800 RAEFORD ROAD, SUITE 24A 4 p.m. Women of all ages are invited to attend the Women in Power workshop to learn how to operate lawn and landscaping equipment with confidence. Participants will learn how to safely operate a blower, weed trimmer and hedge trimmer; the features, benefits and pros/cons of various gas and battery models; and how to maintain the equipment. There will be a hands-on demonstration and Q&A during the work- shop. Presenters include Nate Stobbe, co-owner, and Aaron Russell, assistant store manager. Both have extensive experience operating outdoor power equip- ment and teaching customers how to use it. Attendance is limited. Reserve a spot by calling the store at 910-900-4455. TUESDAY, JULY 11 THURSDAY, JULY 6 90S VIBE PAINT AND SIP 805 ELM STREET 7 p.m. DJ Wolf will be on site playing a mixed 90's groove to vibe to as you paint! You choose your template, created by the Black Canvas artists or you can freestyle paint. No skills needed, just be ready for the dopest vibe in Fayetteville! Join them for a day filled with adventure and excitement as you explore the world of dinosaurs. See life-size dinosaur replicas, learn about their habitats, and even excavate fossils! CAT YOGA 4704 CORPORATION DRIVE 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Cape Fear Botanical Garden is excited to bring you this one-of-a-kind exhibit from Hortication® — An unexpected journey exploring the All-American culture and phenomenon of NASCAR through the lens of the plant world. What in the world do plants have to do with racing, you ask? Well, it started with corn, but through the years the cultural interplay of moonshine, tobacco and hemp have played key roles. Come learn more in this Special Garden Exhibit – included with your Garden or Special Event Admission. This exhibit will be on display through the summer. SUNDAY, JULY 9 FRIDAY, JULY 7 EDIBLE AND MEDICINAL PLANTS CLARK PARK 3 p.m. Before the age of modern medicine, peop- le had to know how to use different plants to treat their ailments. Native plants also served as a source of food for those who knew how to properly collect and prepare them. Learn about the edible and medicinal plants of N.C. on this ranger-led hike.
