WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY? Romans 1:18-32 Unbelief and Its Consequences 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrigh- teousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bod- ies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women ex- changed the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own per- sons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all unrigh- teousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobe- dient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and al- though they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. - New American Standard Dave Fiddament "Dave the Bible Reader" PAID ADVERTISEMENT Like most seniors in Quartzsite, I live in dread fear of breaking a hip bone – an injury that can be crip- pling or fatal and always means long-term care. It happened to me. I was just discharged from Parker Regional Health Center after 12 days and I would like to offer a criti- cal point: you are not at your best in making decisions in a crisis situa- tion, but people who are well-versed in hospital affairs are going to ask you to do just that. If someone asks you how you feel about, for example, achieving some medical milestone and you re- spond, "I'm happy" that will be not- ed. Enough "I'm happy" answers to specifi c health questions and hospi- tal bureaucrats will be able to make a case for dismissing you from the hospital. You will probably not be ready. Most healthcare profession- als are compassionate. But wolves look a lot like dogs, don't they. Joseph Fasbinder Quartzsite Voluntary recall of certain marijuana products due to possible aspergillus and salmonella contamination Several Arizona marijuana estab- lishments are voluntarily recalling specifi c products due to possible contamination with aspergillus, a fungus that can cause allergic reactions or infection, usually in people already sick with something else, and salmonella, a bacterium where in the event of infection can cause diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. The various products being vol- untarily recalled are Caps Frozen Lemon, Twisted Lemonz, Cherry Punch, and Ghost Train Haze. See below for tables with batch num- bers for each product. The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) is advising pur- chasers to dispose of the products described in the table below, which were found in laboratory tests to be positive for Aspergillus and/or Sal- monella. To date, no illnesses have been re- ported. This announcement is being made out of an abundance of cau- tion. Patients who have purchased potentially contaminated products should not ingest, inhale, or oth- erwise consume them and should dispose of them. If you have already consumed any of the products and have any of the symptoms de- scribed below, please contact your healthcare provider or seek care in the event of an emergency. ADHS Laboratory auditors dis- covered that potential false nega- tives results for contaminants were reported by a licensed marijuana laboratory. Once ADHS discovered the poten- tial contamination, they contacted the facility that produced the prod- ucts. The licensee took immediate action to work with all distribution and retail partners to remove any potentially impacted products from store shelves. Testing requirements for marijua- na products can be reviewed on Ta- ble 3.1 for each 9 A.A.C. 18 Adult-Use Marijuana Program and 9 A.A.C. 17 Medical Marijuana Program. Consumers may contact the dis- pensary or establishment where they purchased the products listed below if they have any questions. SYMPTOMS Aspergillus: Aspergillus can cause allergic reactions or infection, usu- ally in people already sick with something else. Symptoms range from asthma or cold-like symptoms to fever and chest pain, among many others. A full list of symptoms can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) website. Salmonella: Symptoms from in- gesting salmonella usually start within six hours to six days after in- fection and last four to seven days. I am sad to an- nounce Desert Messenger news will not be publishing the visitor guide this year due to ongoing health concerns and the rising costs of printing. The Town of Quartzsite is working on possible alternatives. It has been the most challenging, but enjoyable project each year, sharing Quartzsite's treasures in one small publication. Thank you to everyone who has supported this venture over the years. You all ROCK! ~Shanana Rain Golden-Bear Publisher Desert Messenger News
