p. 3 University of Florida MAKING AN IMPACT The 2022-23 academic year was one for the books as we accomplished numerous feats that have brought our Chapter to the next level. We initiated an incredible pledge class and had the highest number of Alpha Omega members on record. Philanthropy has not been our strong suit in the past, but last October, we hosted a Casino Night that became the most successful philanthropy event across all of UF's Greek life. Our involvement has continued to build across campus as our Brothers participated in Florida Blue Key, Gator Student Investment Fund, IFC Executive Board, Gator Growl, Dance Marathon, and other organizations. CASINO NIGHT In spring 2022, one of our Brothers was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo treatment at AdventHealth in Orlando. Our Chapter immediately looked for ways to support him, and we knew cancer research at AdventHealth was the benefactor we wanted to work with. We began planning the event over the summer and hosted a large casino event with a variety of casino games, a 50/50 raffe, a silent auction, and other raffes. We set our fundraising goal at $65,000, and due to the event's success and the great support we received, we raised over $69,000. We were thrilled to present a check for $50,091 to AdventHealth. We couldn't be happier with how the event turned out, but we also couldn't be prouder of our Brother who endured a challenge more diffcult than we could ever imagine. Thank you to those of you who donated to the silent auction, raffe, and crowd change link; we are very excited to hold our second Casino Night in the fall. MOM'S WEEKEND We had a great turnout for Mom's Weekend in early November; nearly 120 moms came to enjoy a weekend packed full of events. On Friday, we spent time in Midtown and played pool while watching college football. On Saturday, we hosted the moms at the house, enjoyed a nice brunch courtesy of our chefs, and closed the night watching the Gators football game at a local Gainesville Brewery. VOLCANO WEEK Leading up to our annual Volcano party, we had several brotherhood events to bring the Chapter together. Our Chaplain, Dow Walker '19, did a great job organizing events, including a donut-eating competition and a guacamole-making contest. Brennen Gil '20 and Sammy Toggas '20 were the event coordinators. NEW EXECUTIVE BOARD In November, we elected our new executive board. A new focus this year was to increase the overall academics of the Chapter. Treasurer Brennen Gil '20 and I have started a tutoring service aimed at helping younger finance and accounting students excel in their introductory and intermediate courses. NEW MEMBERS Reed Blevins '19 did a great job molding our newest young men into incredible Brothers of our fraternity. I am excited to see the great things they accomplish for the university and the Chapter. LOOKING AHEAD As we reflect on a very successful year, we anticipate more opportunities for growth and improvement in the coming fall. We hope to see many of you on campus at our Casino Night on September 15! Thank you for your unwavering support and continued encouragement. Love & Respect, J.T.
