A nother spring has come, and the football team lost their last game. It was the spring game, so we actually also won. A win is a win. PLAYING FOR A CAUSE Toward the beginning of the year in 2022, former Worthy Master Grant Thrower '19 and I talked about how things are going well at the Mansion, but we continue to struggle with philanthropy efforts. He heard of a Casino Night that Ohio State was doing and decided to bring it to Alpha Omega. The Brothers had a great turnout (read more on page 3!), and the money raised was given to the AdventHealth Foundation in Orlando in support of Brother Ellis Flemming '19, who received his cancer treatment there. I am happy to report that the next Casino Night is scheduled for Friday, September 15, which is the night before the Tennessee game. The collegians hope to see many alumni attend this annual event. BIG HAPPY FAMILY Worthy Master JT Story '20 and Exchequer Brennen Gil '20 had their hands full following up last year's record of 223 active Brothers, but they rose to the task and recorded a roster of 236. That is quite close to the Chapter's maximum, and we have found that preparing and serving meals for so many Brothers is challenging. FEEDING THE MASSES I always remember the meals at the Tau Mansion being very good. The students of today have a slightly pickier palate. So, one of our goals was to improve the quality of the food we serve. Molly McCann, our housemother, has reported that the Brothers are extremely happy with the changes and the food that is being served. Hallelujah! REGARDING THE FLOODING We did not make any substantial progress on the basement. The flooding still comes as the water table rises. The French drain didn't fix the problem, but we are pursuing another remedy. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated! PRESERVING COMPOSITES For the composite restoration, we are talking about having the mini composites put together in a book that is attached to the wall so it won't grow legs and disappear. We will also see what kind of interest there is in funding the restoration of composites. As a fraternity, we have been blessed with strong leadership from the actives and from many alumni. If you haven't heard it recently, please accept our thanks.
