ALPHA AVALANCHE | TEXAS ALPHA | PHI KAPPA PSI | | SPRING EDITION 2023 We began the year hosting our brothers from The Alabama Alpha Chapter for a heartbreaking football loss, followed by concerts from Chris Lake and Shane Smith and the Saints, graciously organized and funded by the Texas Alpha Endowment Fund. The fall semester included many more tailgates, our annual trip to Dallas for the Red River Rivalry, our second annual Casino Night philanthropy fundraiser, Parents Weekend, Phi Psi Frost and our Winter Formal. The spring semester was highlighted by our Founders Weekend, Talladega and Vice parties, Mom's/Dad's weekends and an entertaining playoff run by Texas basketball. Outside of those events, brothers stayed engaged with weekly events such as poker Wednesday, Friday golf, our Phi Psi basketball association games, video game tournaments and "Old Man" social gatherings. As the school year ends and we head into summer, our focus is set on wrapping up our Bermuda Formal build and continuing rush efforts for the fall. Please reach out to Head Rush Captain Richard Raclaw '21 at richieraclaw@gmail.com or (773) 402-8942 with any referrals. All in all, it has been a great year, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone back at tailgates this fall! Amici, Mark von den Steinen '20 GP BUILDING A POSITIVE COMMUNITY Brothers Reflect on a Year of Bonds and Service The 2022-23 school year was filled with continued traditions, new events and renewed optimism that Texas football might be back next year. Involvement: We have brothers involved in: • Interfraternity Council • Silver Spurs • Daily Texan • Undergraduate Business Council • Greek Meds • Management Consulting Association • Longhorn Investment Team • Several honors student associations • And many more groups! Academically: We maintained a G.P.A. above the university (and Greek) average all year. Philanthropy and Service: We contributed over 2,000 hours of service and $6,000 in donations to the Texas chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in memory of Charlie Hadsell '18.
