Bishop Seabury Academy

2 O n behalf of the students, faculty, and the entire community of Bishop Seabury Academy, thank you to everyone who helped to make this year's annual auction, Rock On Seabury!, a tremendous success! This year's auction chairs, Sarah Hill-Nelson and Meagan Lohmeyer, together with the entire auction committee, put on an amazing auction on February 24! There was a full house despite the icy conditions and everyone came dressed to rock out and support the school. Special thanks to Seabury parents Jeff and Julie Smith of Two Freckled Frogs for printing the custom "tour" t-shirt highlighting the past auctions and providing a fun option for attire. Other attendees created their own costumes based on their favorite band or musical artist. Many thanks to the generosity of those attending and those bidding from afar, as we again set an all-time high record of over $233,000! The evening began with Margie Lawrence leading the students in Queen's "We Will Rock You" and setting a perfect tone for the night. The table centerpieces had a custom mini steel guitar in a beautiful flower arrangement created by Seabury parent Jen Oldridge of STEMS Event Flowers. The five-foot version of the steel guitar was given to retired faculty Bill Gollier, who is known for his love of rock music. Support for Fund-A-Need came in at $108,850, surpassing our goal of $80,000! These important funds will assist in helping our young Robotics program grow and thrive by adding 3D printers, robotic parts, competition robots, and laptops; support our Athletics program with new equipment and uniforms; and underwrite other areas affected by the pandemic while providing financial assistance to qualifying families that wouldn't otherwise be able to attend Seabury.
