Once a Seahawk ... A PUBLICATION FOR ALUMNI, PARENTS, AND FRIENDS OF BISHOP SEABURY ACADEMY 2023 SUMMER Dear Seabury Community, We just completed the end of a great school year. We have enjoyed tremendous energy throughout the student body, and the school year has been studded with memorable antics and achievements. We inaugurated spring with the school's first international trip to Spain. Our girls' soccer team enjoyed sunlit games on our new soccer field. This year's Renaissance Day offered a feast of classes in smoking meats, yoga, crossword puzzles, Middle Eastern history, pigeon racing, and other novel subjects. And our all-school morning meetings continue to be punctuated by a ridiculous frequency of student applause. One particularly important moment this spring involved the arrival of the ISACS Visiting Team, an important step in our school's reaccreditation process that happens every seven years. This team—with members representing schools from Chicago, St. Louis, Bentonville, Kansas City, and Grosse Pointe, Michigan—spent several days on campus visiting classes and meeting with students, teachers, parents, alumni, and trustees. As we would hope, the team praised our school for its vibrant culture, the academic rigor and engagement on display in classrooms, the exceptional character of our students, and the deep investment and expertise of our faculty. The entire experience was a resounding affirmation that Bishop Seabury Academy is a uniquely vital home of learning. I hope that all our students and staff enjoy well-deserved time off this summer to rest and play—and perhaps our parents can enjoy the same. To our alumni, I hope you are all prospering and finding happiness in the world as you make it a better place. We think of you often!
