A HOUSE OF MEMORIES - Maintenance Projects to Begin This Summer - Volunteer Opportunities Available! Notes of the Lyre PHI CHAPTER OF ALPHA CHI OMEGA | UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS | SPRING 2023 S ummer break is just around the corner, and the House Corporation Board is planning to begin maintenance projects the day the ladies move out. All of their rooms, along with the hallways on the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors, will be painted, and the halls will get new carpet. While testing different paint and carpet colors in the halls, I was trying to remember when we last replaced the carpet and painted the upstairs. Was this the same carpet some of our younger board members walked on? This in turn made me ponder, how many women have walked these floors over the last 50 years? How many women have called 1500 Sigma Nu Place home? What memories do you have of living in the chapter house? We would love for you to share them with us, whether they are from the current location or the prior house on Oread. (We do not report to standards, so no fines will be imposed for previous rule-breaking!) As members of the House Corporation Board, it is our job to provide a home where lifelong memories are made. We can only accomplish this task with the help and support of our alumnae. We are always searching for new volunteers and supporters; please reach out to me or any other board member, as there are multiple ways to get involved. Be sure to stop by the house during Homecoming on October 28. We will be having an open house and hope to see all of you!
